Good evening lovelies!
I just wanted to make a quick announcement that I will be taking a break from the blog for a little bit. I will continue writing when I can clear my head! - Yours in Christ

Good afternoon readers! As promised, we will be going through a short series on the I Ams of Jesus as seen in the Gospel of John. Today's session will be out of John 10:11.
The book of Isaiah says that we are all like sheep, having gone astray and getting lost constantly (53:6). There had to be a way to keep us all in line right? There are currently over 7 billion people on earth as of 2013 (Google), and that's a lot of sheep. Some of those sheep are stubborn and just will not cooperate at all. We were once like that too...until the Good Shepherd found us, and took us into His fold of believers. In the ever-famous and commonly quoted Psalm 23, the writer says "thy rod and thy staff...comfort me". David, whom we attribute to this Psalm, was a shepherd. He knew what it was like to watch sheep day after day, and have to keep them in line. God is kind of like that. He uses His Word as a rod and staff to keep our lives in check, and to remind us that we once went astray. He also reminds us that it is our duty to stay among the flock, while He goes to find the lost sheep. The last statement I made may seem controversial, seeing as it's our place to go tell people about Jesus. While that is true, Jesus is the ONLY one who can work in the hearts and lives of the lost and unsaved. We can only plant that seed, and bring the lost to the The Door of the fold, which we will talk about in another session. The Good Shepherd convicts and comforts, and eventually opens the way to salvation. If you know you are lost and without a Savior, the Shepherd is beckoning you in. Will you answer His voice? Welcome back guys! I thought I'd give you into a glimpse of a few products that help me achieve that dewy, luminous glow that everyone wears on the red carpet.
Bonus: Two products are from the drugstore, and the other two are high-end. Together, they are amazing, but the high-end is optional. Disclaimer: Anything high-end is optional. Drugstore products can do the exact same thing for much less. Primer The very first thing you should be doing after moisturizing is priming your skin. It will help your makeup last longer and stay all day. For the healthy glow, try the MAC Strobe Cream. You can use it as an all over primer or a liquid highlight in certain places. Some stores like Sephora or the MAC Pro department stores give you sample sizes to try out before you purchase. http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/13824/364/products/skincare/moisturizers/strobe-cream Foundation So now that we've primed and moisturized, it's time to get that beautiful canvas going. The goal for "the glow" is to choose a foundation that has a healthy finish. It shouldn't make you look oily or greasy, but it should make you look like you've had your fruits and veggies. You can go as full coverage or as sheer coverage as you want. My personal favorite full coverage will be linked below. It's also important to note that a damp beauty blender is a game changer. Not only will it help take any excess foundation, it will continue to give you that hydration that your skin needs without giving it an oily feel. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Maybelline-Dream-Liquid-Make-up/10997140 Highlighting Now we're coming to my favorite part: highlighting! There are so many ways to highlight. You've got liquids, creams, powders, etc... It can all be extremely overwhelming to the beginner so I won't go into detail about the different ones. Highlighting is bringing out the features you want to accentuate. (If you have oily skin, I would not recommend highlighting your forehead or chin). To highlight your cheekbones or other areas, you can use a big fluffy brush or a smaller one. I personally enjoy using a tapered eyeshadow brush to get really precise. Just make sure to blend with your concealer and blush so you don't have a giant stripe going across your face. (Another tip: use your highlight to accentuate the brow bone and inner corners of your eyes). https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1527152/thebalm-mary-lou-manizer-highlighter-shimmer-compact.jsp?ci_mcc=ci&utm_campaign=COSMETICS%20EXCLUSIONS&utm_medium=CSE&utm_source=google&utm_product=94462152&CID=shopping15&gclid=CPOLwIWNqdICFdgLgQodQKYMgQ&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CI_N04WNqdICFUUcgQod-10MQw Set 'n Go After your makeup is finished, it's important to lock it all in so it will stay. Of course you've got your primer, but you want to give it a little extra oomph. Setting sprays not only help your makeup last longer, but depending on the finish, it can give you the lasting effect that will make people turn their heads. For an extra treat, find a spray that will nourish and cool your skin. http://www.target.com/p/nyx-setting-spray/-/A-15141140 |
