About two or three months ago, I went on a shopping trip with a friend. It was my first trip to Marshall's and my friend practically pulled me by the hand to the beauty section (we're both beauty junkies). Once we were back there, I came across the essential oils and I wanted to get the rosehip oil.; one of the best decision's I've ever made to be honest. BENEFITS OF ROSEHIP OIL Rosehip oil has three main benefits. First it is antiaging; the large amounts of vitamin C antioxidants assist in the production of collagen. Second, it provides photo-aging protection; the oil fights against free radicals that cause damage to your skin. Spot reduction is the third benefit; dark spots, bruises, etc...vitamin A and the essential fatty acids play an important role in this. Learn more from LiveStrong's website about rosehip oil here. MEASURABLE DIFFERENCE ROSEHIP OIL REVIEW Note: Review is not sponsored. Opinions and thoughts are my own! The oil has made an amazing difference in my skin. At first, I wasn't too sure; I rubbed it vigorously all over my face and I turned red, eventually seeing a few red bumps on my cheeks. After figuring out how to apply it properly (pressing two or three drops gently into the skin), I absolutely fell in love. One of the biggest praises I have to sing happened recently. I took a really bad fall up the stairs (yep, up the stairs...because your blog author is clumsy) and I landed on the bricks, and it caused a massive bruise on the side of my leg. After a few days it was really black and ugly. I remembered that rosehip oil helped with dark spots and bruises, so I gave it a shot. The next morning I checked on the bruise and half of it was gone. I'm normally skeptical about such things but after seeing that, I fell in love with that oil so much more. After one week of use, my bruise completely disappeared. Can we say wow!? When I use it on my face as an extra moisturizing treatment, it leaves my skin extremely smooth. My favorite way to use it is putting it on before bed; waking up in the morning and having soft skin? Yes please! I highly recommend the Measurable Difference Rosehip Oil to anyone that struggles with dry skin or is looking for a way to to treat any dark spots. It's worth every single penny; I paid $5 at Marshall's for a 4 oz. bottle. Just in case you do not have a Marshall's near you, I found a link online where you can purchase it. It's about $10 more but as I said, it's completely worth it. Measurable Difference Rosehip Oil

Today I thought I'd share with my readers some of the things that I have currently been loving for winter 2017, ranging from body and skincare, makeup, and I'm also going to share my go-to winter drink. Sometimes if I need a little extra boost, I love to apply the Bliss Snowberry Body Butter. It leaves your skin feeling moisturized, refreshed, and it gives a wonderful cooling sensation if you're feeling a little hot from prepping for the holidays! I also like to pair it with their Snowberry Hand Creme and the line also has a bath wash that doubles as a bubble bath! One of my personal favorite looks, especially during the cooler months, is a nice glow to the skin. I achieve it by using my NYX Dewy Setting Spray. I'm not sure about the longevity of my makeup, but it definitely gives me a holiday shine (in a good way). You can also use it as a primer under your makeup or you can wear it alone when you're donning a bare face. For maximum glow, I opt for a highlighter that was originally recommended by famed YouTuber Jaclyn Hill. She used The Balm's Mary Lou-Manizer in one of her tutorials, and it just so happened that I was out shopping at Kohl's and found it on sale! I'm super glad that I made that investment because it is such a good quality highlighter. It can be used on the cheekbones, inner corners of the eyes, and as an eyeshadow topper. I highly recommend it to those of you that like to blind people with your highlight. Big thank you to Jaclyn! My go-to foundation recently has been the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup. It is a buildable, medium coverage product and it gives a soft, subtle glow. It feels light-weight on the skin and it is amazing for dry skin. It's best applied with a brush (I use the RT Expert Face Brush). My favorite non-beauty product for the winter (and the sniffles) is Bigelow Peppermint Herbal Tea. Guys, this stuff is amazing. My favorite way to prep it is to put the tea bag in my mug and let the coffee brewer spit out about 8 ounces of water, and then I let the tea sit for about five minutes, and then it's good to go. I recommend this for anyone who struggles with allergies or a sore throat; it was my best friend when I had pneumonia. What are your favorite beauty and non-beauty winter staples? Tell me in the comments! Image courtesy of the volunteer photographers for Pixabay.
Scripture Reference - Isaiah 9:6 Ah yes, it's that beautiful time of the year when traffic volume for holiday travelers increases, pets destroy the wrapping paper, and...wait...back up! That's not what Christmas is all about. Sure, it's adorable when the dog rips his gift open early. Absolutely! Go wild during the holiday sales at the mall. Pay attention to the news so you know when and where to go should any detours come up. But even in the midst of the chaos and craziness, a baby was born. Two thousand years ago, people were hustling and bustling because of the tax census, but Mary and Joseph gave us an example to follow. They rested in the presence of Almighty God wrapped in human flesh. Mary, as the Scripture says, pondered all these things in her heart. Today's verse reminds us that the baby was called the Prince of Peace. This birth brought the world some good news in a "bad news" world. Politics, society in general...it was all a big mess, just like it is in today's world. But thank God we can remember a baby. THE baby. Even the angels were in awe, and they praised God; they declared peace on earth that night. They declared good will toward men that night. This year instead of focusing on the rush and chaos of getting things done before the in-laws arrive, set your mind on the Prince of Peace. If you have a nativity set, "ponder these things" as Mary did. Thank God that you don't have to put Jesus back in a box after the tree is down because He lives in your heart all year 'round. Merry Christmas to all my readers and I hope you have a blessed 2018! Image courtesy of the volunteer photographers for Pixabay.
Scripture Reference - Romans 1:16 The past year has been quite a battle for many Christians, so today I am going to give a little encouragement and let my readers know to stay standing strong for God. There is so much opposition coming against us; political power, social justice issues, etc...but regardless of what people say or try to get us to do, we need to stand on God's Word and not back down. I personally have had folks to challenge me and make me choose between their friendship and my convictions. Even though it was difficult to lose them, standing on God's Word was the best thing I could have done. I challenge you to stand up for Jesus and show the world that we are not backing down, and show them that there is a better way to live. Let's pray for each other that God will strengthen us and give us what we need to live in a godless society. Yours in Christ, Patricia. Image courtesy of the volunteer photographers for Pixabay.
Scripture Reference - Ephesians 2:13 If you're anything like me, you probably enjoy watching beauty makeovers and transformations. I love to see a lady's face lighten up when she sees a better version of her skin, or beautiful curls that replace dull, flat tresses. But think about this...God is pleased when He sees us transform into the likeness of His Son. It's a spiritual makeover; a "faith-lift". In today's Scripture, Paul gives us a very clear picture of ourselves before we came to know Christ. In Ephesians 2:12, he tells us what we WERE. We were filthy, good-for-nothing, bound-for-hell sinners. In verse 13, it says that NOW we "...are made nigh by the blood of Christ." As a beauty enthusiast, I want to make a point. Just as applying a nice layer of makeup to our face evens out our skin tone and covers unsightly blemishes, the blood of Jesus covers our sins and restores our broken relationship with God. It makes us perfect in the eyes of God; whiter than snow. There's an old song that I'd like to share with you that kind of goes along with this, and I hope all of you reading this can relate to the line, "...there to my heart was the blood applied..." Enjoy reading it and I will see you next time. Much love. Down at the cross where my Savior died, Down where for cleansing from sin I cried, There to my heart was the blood applied; Glory to His Name! Refrain: Glory to His Name, Glory to His Name: There to my heart was the blood applied; Glory to His Name! I am so wondrously saved from sin, Jesus so sweetly abides within, There at the cross where He took me in; Glory to His Name! Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin, I am so glad I have entered in; There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean; Glory to His Name! Come to this fountain so rich and sweet, Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet; Plunge in today, and be made complete; Glory to His Name! |
