Scripture Reference - 2 Timothy 2:15 I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! It's so awesome to have the privilege of serving a risen Savior. With that being said, as His followers, we should be in His Word daily. But why? Why is it so important that we study our Bible? I'll give you a glimpse into the importance, and at the end, I will provide some resources that are available to help you delve deeper into the Word of God. I do have a disclaimer; the links are affiliated with ChristianBook, so I will receive a portion of your purchase when you buy something through those links. ~ ~ ~ WHY IS STUDYING THE BIBLE SO IMPORTANT? 1) Your Bible is the mind of God. People ask "how can I know the will of God for my life"? Go to the Word. It will teach you everything you need to know. Ask the Holy Spirit to illuminate and help you understand it. 2) Your Bible has authority. To some people, it may just be another outdated book that 16th century Puritans used to read. But oh how we must stray from that attitude. When we really get into it, we can have the same authority. 3) Your Bible guides you into all truth. It should be the first thing you pick up when someone wants to accept Jesus Christ. You'll know exactly where to turn to show them what to do. Keep in mind that the words themselves do not have power, but rely on the Author and Finisher to do the work. 4) Your Bible is a consolation. In heartaches and trials, you can always go to God's Word to encourage and uplift your heart. It reminds you of the strength you have in Jesus, and it walks you through a godly way to react to your problems. ~ ~ ~ BIBLE STUDY RESOURCES

In one swift motion, allow yourself to just...be. Be calm and still. When you need to, be stormy. Just be. Be a beautiful sight for sore eyes. Be the one that someone can go to for a good time or relaxation. Speak soothing words to yourself and to others. Be like the ocean. Because it's all a part of simply...letting go. Scripture Reference - James 1:22 As a skincare therapist, part of my job is to explain the importance of a daily routine for my clients. Beautiful skin doesn't happen if we 1) don't use the product recommended, 2) use it haphazardly, or 3) use it incorrectly. The same thing can be said about our walk with Jesus; if we don't apply the Word of God to our lives and to our hearts, our Christianity is in vain. Not being in the Word and neglecting to obey it is one of the most dangerous things a person can ever do. That is treading on dark waters, and you do not want to be there. Obeying partially or haphazardly can be just as bad. In fact, partial obedience is disobedience. If the Lord told you to go to your friend's house and witness, and all you did was go to your friend's house, you disobeyed. Getting into false doctrine and spreading it is also extremely fatal. Incorrect teaching can ruin you and your testimony, and that's the last thing any professing Christian wants to happen. But in order for any of this to make sense, the blood of Jesus must be applied to our hearts. In order for our actions and activities to work, we have to know Him. Once the blood is applied, then our works can be as well. Glory to His name! |
