Scripture Reference: Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Before we get into today's meditation, I wanted to let you know that over the course of the next few weeks, I will be sharing what the Lord revealed to me last year in my journaling time. It was certainly a learning experience for me and I hope it will be for you too. The above verse can be taken in one of two ways...you can take it for it is and trust God, or you can become bitter and do things your own way. But God wants you to trust Him because His ways are not our ways. Let me share a few things that the Holy Spirit taught me from this verse. Waiting is not passive. As I've brought out so many times, we can't sit around on the church pew twiddling our thumbs. We've got to have an active faith. Waiting is courageous. God hasn't given us a spirit of fear. He's given us a spirit of faith. Waiting strengthens your faith. When God places you in some downtime or doesn't open a door of direction just yet, wait on God. Pray. Continue to do the things He's asked you to do. The reason for waiting? Because God knows best. He sees everything. If he opens that door of direction too early or too late, we could get hurt. God's timing is always right. Lessons On Impatience: 1) Impatience never changes God's mind. Either you trust Him or you don't. All He wants is a little bit of faith. Remember the parable of the mustard seed? 2) Impatience also causes you to lose sight of what God is already doing! So let go, and let God. Sometimes we are so busy looking ahead or making plans for next Sunday that we don't take the time and look at what God is doing on a mundane Thursday afternoon. A Challenge: Is there something you're waiting on God for? I challenge you this week to spend five more minutes praying. Spend five more minutes in His Word, and bask in His promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Thanks for stopping by, and I'll see you next time! Patricia (Blog Author)

Disclaimer: I am not trying to sell anything. In fact, I have no idea how to do business online. These people mentioned in this post have no idea who I am, with the exception of one, whom I guest-blogged with a few months ago. Today you will get a rare sneak peek into some of the random things that I enjoy reading and watching on social media. Most of these people are YouTubers, but there are other things too. Maybe you can check them out if you're interested! The first one is my favorite beauty guru. She goes on YouTube by Jaclyn Hill. I love her talent and her genuine ability to be able to help people get out of their comfort zone and teach them about not only beauty, but the fashion world too. Study With Jess is a YouTube channel dedicated to helping students do their best in school and college. Jess does an amazing job outlining what is important when being productive, and she also has helpful tips on how to make the best of your mornings and nights. Kalyn Nicholson is a lifestyle vlogger on YouTube. She has a range of videos from productivity to just how to get your life together. If you just want simple advice that's not going to overwhelm you or make you feel like you'll never get anything done, you should check her out! Nora Conrad is a productivity coach and, from what I see, a great student of the Bible. She did a series a while back in the book of Ruth that every woman should see. Nora shows you how to use internet-based productivity programs that will help you get more done in less time. I found many of her videos extremely helpful when I started this blog. Forever Beloved is a blog that I had the privilege of guest blogging with a few months ago. It's all based around the Word of God and she has a variety of posts. She is very creative with her entries and her photos are absolutely gorgeous (photography goals!). Her blog also includes her own life experiences, recipes, and all-around fun. Do you have any favorite YouTubers or bloggers? Share them with us! Image courtesy of the volunteer photographers for Pixabay.
I didn't really have any inspired theme this week so I thought I'd just put out some random points from one of my favorite verses. I hope you can get something out of it regardless. Scripture Reference: Hebrews 12:1 1) We are surrounded by witnesses. I've heard many people say that people watch our lives as Christians whether we know it or not. They "witness" our lives. They "witness" the work of the Spirit in us. 2) Continuing on with the above thought, we need to "lay aside every weight...and...sin". Since people are watching our lives, should we not let go of the things that hinder our walk with Christ? Make sure people are seeing the Spirit, not the flesh. 3) Run with patience. Yikes, that's a no-no word in today's fast-paced society. We want everything now. Fast food, fast pick-up, fast lane...do any of those sound familiar? We should never let those things take over our lives. Run with patience. Run with endurance. Our goal? Look at verse 2. Jesus is our ultimate goal. Heaven is our ultimate goal. What are you doing to take other people with you? Share with me your favorite verses and what God has shown you through them. |
